COVID-19 has a challenging period for South Australia and the nation. From the beginning of the pandemic, health and safety have been the top priority for the South Australian Liberal Government. Many in our communities have not only faced health concerns but have also faced economic uncertainty as a result of restrictions. Our government has released financial stimulus and implemented initiatives to help keep our economy strong and South Australian businesses open.
However, now more than ever, South Australian local businesses and tourism services need our support. I recently went radio emphasising the importance of supporting our fellow South Australian businesses. We have so much to be proud of here in South Australia and by spending money locally, we are keeping South Australians in work.
Thank you to each and every one of you for following the expert health advice which has kept our state safe. Let’s fight for our recovery and future! Let’s be even better than before!

🇦🇺 What a wonderful way to start Australia Day with an early morning community walk followed by the Berri Barmera Council Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony and Community Awards.
💙 I felt incredibly honoured to present Uncle Jack with a tribute from the Berri Barmera Council in memory of Auntie Rhonda.

Tonight I attended the 🇦🇺 Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony and Citizen of the Year Awards 🇦🇺 at City of Mitcham.
It was an absolute privilege to witness all of those who made the important decision to become Australian citizens 💙 Congratulations!
Citizenship is multifaceted; it goes beyond a simple legal status.
It encompasses rights, responsibilities, and a sense of belonging.
It is participation and access, and it benefits the overall well-being of individuals and societies in which they live.
To all of the citizen award winners and nominees, well done to you all and thank you for all that you do for your community 💙🇦🇺💙
Fantasic community engagement today at Coles Blackwood with David Speirs MP.
Thank you to the many community members who came out despite the torrential rain. We heard you loud and clear:
- Concern about health services and the ramping crisis
- Cost of living is hurting households
- The importance of small business in the community
- Better roads in Waite
- Continue to expand the bike path networks
- Support for families dealing with complicated aged care pathways
These listening posts are really important. They bring the community's voice straight to our Leadership team.
They are one of my favourite things to do as a representative in Parliament and I am already looking forward to the next one.
